"Pray for Obama Using Psalm 109:8 as reference" - (My Opinion).

You know it's a sad sorry world we live in when 'Christians' (so-called) use religion and the Bible maliciously. Everywhere in 'Christian America' today the slogan is "Pray for Obama Using Psalm 109:8 as reference".

"May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership..." Psalm 109:8

How insane can people be? Is it Christian-like to wish your neighbour evil? You pray for the man's death (yes, Psalm 109:8 and it's following verses are a prayer for the death of an individual), and the distress of his family and you call yourself a true Christian? Where is Christ in your life, I ask?

*Quoting Matthew 22:36-40 (New International Version):

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

His greatest commandments according to the Bible, even greater than the 10 commandments of Moses, were "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, and love your neighbour as yourself", so tell me dear 'Christian', where your heart is and which Bible you read and follow! You cannot pull the wool over my eyes by divorcing and quoting just one Bible verse which suits your agenda when every schooled person knows that Bible verses follow each other in context. If you really want to quote properly, you had better include the rest of that terrible Bible verse which says...

"...May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow. May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes!"

How can you call yourself a Patriot AND a Christian then say this piece of shit prayer for YOUR PRESIDENT, a fellow human? This is hypocricy, and it makes you a failure, both as a person and more so as a Christian. Truly. You're also most certainly a pious racist. What has Obama done that is worse than whatever past and present politicians did or have done? Where was the cry for the death of his predecessor(s)? What is the deal dear 'Christian', why is God's law so hard to keep when it involves a 'coloured' in the White House? I'll stop here, but I'll leave you with some words before I go... (culled from The Bible and Respect for Authority - article by John Ross Schroeder):

[Regardless of the outcome of the crisis of the presidency, Christians are obliged to obey God by respecting government authority—the law and national and local leaders. Two of the apostles made this point in their letters.

"Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities," wrote the apostle Paul. "For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God" (Romans:13:1). This includes the payment of taxes and other obligations (verses 2-7). Remember that the Roman government of the time had its own problems with corruption and abuse of power. But such behavior does not give people an excuse to disobey the law or disrespect the authority of their leaders.

Peter gave his readers the same instruction: "Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors ..." (1 Peter:2:13-14). We are also to "honor the king" or chief ruler (verse 17). Paul echoes Peter's instruction to Titus: "Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready to every good work, to speak evil of no one ..."(Titus:3:1-2). Elsewhere Paul exhorts us pray "for kings and all who are in authority" (1 Timothy:2:1-2) .

All this does not mean that we are to disobey God in situations where the law of man may conflict with the law of God (Acts:4:18-20; 5:40), but even then Christians are to continue to respect government authority—even when those in positions of authority have abused their offices.]

The above shows that if you are a practicing Christian you are bound by the word of God to give honour to those in authority, there's no way around it, this is true Christianity, practice it. So the next time you decide to pray for your President, let the words that come from your mouth be prayers for long life, wisdom and prosperity, both for him and your nation.
